Heres to 2011 being a much better year!

Lady Bug celebrated her Gotcha day/B-day with us!  We have had her a year! 

Life has been coring so far, Christmas was good.  Big plans for puppies in 2011! 

Greyhound Friends of NJ Craft Show

"Craft Show" was an understatement!  My only regret was that I didn't have enough money!  Greyt vendors and rescues, a bake sale and a tricky tray that had prizes like an iPad, $300 Best Buy Gift Card, and an iPod touch.

I won none of those things.  LOL

I bought $20 worth of tricky tray tickets knowing it was going to a good cause.  I wish I could get another one...there was a black male there for adoption named KB's Ivan Drago...my favorite Rocky villian (from Rocky IV).  He had the thinnest blaze going down his nose and white sox and a tip on the tail...he stared at me.  With those "Darien eyes".  I started crying.  I had to leave him, I knew I don't have the room right now.  

Sigh.  :(  It still hurts...

On the bright note - I met up with my friend Raquel and we had a fabulous dinner at Olive Garden.  Talked dogs...my favorite subject.  

Christmas is Cancelled.

Giving Thanks

I am thankful for my family, friends, health, and my dogs and cats aka "The Beasts". 

I am missing Princess who passed away a year ago this month, but thankful for Lady Bug - a quirky little Spaniel who is dumb as a box of rocks.  LOL 

I miss my Darien terribly.  I still do, always will.  He used to open up his gifts, and thoroughly enjoy them.  But I think to myself, one day, there will that Greyhound who needs me as much as Darien did.  He was a gorgeous beast of a hound - jet black with a white patch on his chest.  I don't have a lot of pictures of him that are fabulous as he was so dark.  And he didn't care for the camera so much.  (And I only had a digital camera in 2004 - a year before he died.)

That said, I miss Elvis.  I miss the Elvis in this picture - the puppy who adored his poppa hound.  And me.  I know I did right by Elvis, but it still hurts.  I know him and Darien are together. 

Majors!

Tollar got his second major by going BOW at the Kennel Club of Philadelphia!  Yay!

He needs 2 singles to finish now!

Iggy Pop earned his BN, or Beginner Novice obedience title at the Palisades Kennel Club!  With a 3rd place.

He is accumulating alphabet soup after his name!  :D 

Litter planned

I originally had other plans for Priscilla, but my health issues made it difficult to breed and raise a litter on my own.  I was going to put off breeding Priscilla for yet another cycle.

I was approached by Tiffany and Kathy for an exciting opportunity.  Tiffany offered to co-breed this litter with me.  So I decided to go for it.  :o)

Priscilla was bred to MBIS/BISS GCh Heart of Gold Power Play, aka "Powell".  Powell was a Number 1 Cardigan, Best Stud Dog CWCCA 2010 National, AOM Westminster 2009 and 2010.  On paper, this is a repeat breeding that produced Will Smith Jacob who was Reserve Winners Dog and Best Puppy at the 2010 National.

Priscilla is mom to Tollar, who won the 12-18 month class at the 2010 National.   

I *think* she is by the way she is acting and the breeding went very well...so if she is we will have Turkey day puppies.

And we celebrated by a trip to work, a trip to Petsmart, and a trip to Pet Goods.

We came We saw...

On Saturday, Priscilla was entered at Newtown Kennel Club Dog Show.  Part of a 4 day cluster, this was a one shot deal. 


We had an early ring time so I could show and Go!  I needed to be home so I could meet Ozzy and his family for puppy sitting.  Ozzy was Zit - the puppy with the white head. 

Priscilla as of Saturday had 15 out of 25 points towards her Grand Championship - had all 3 majors but still needed to defeat champions 2 other times.  I saw there would be 3 specials bitches and one specials dog.  Cool.

Even Cooler was a nice BOB win by judge Lee Brown!  The icing on the cake was that this win was worth 5 points towards her Grand Championship according to the AKC!

So both of Miss P's wins over Champions have been big!  We are up to 20 points - with half those points being 5 pointers!

Some know some don't.

I've been having some health issues lately (well if you can count years as "lately") with eating and near constant migranes.

I've been getting the gamut of tests and so far endoscopy showed a mass or something that is compressing my stomach from the outside.  I need a CAT scan ordered on Monday.  I hope its nothing or something that is a quick fix.

That and I also need an MRI for my brain.

Kinda sucks but I'm trying to not think about it and enjoy my dogs and dogshows.  I'm super excited for an upcoming breeding for Priscilla.  Litter should be super versatile dogs!   

She got her majors!

Priscilla got her 3 majors required for her Grand Championship!  Yay!



She needs 13 more points and needs to defeat champions 2 more times.  Hopefully we can get done before she has her date with Crush.  ;o)

I'm not shouting - its how I talk.

Well, I am doing a good job at work.  So they gave me a bit of a raise.  Enough for it to get eaten by taxes, but it is still a raise!

I have been on a rampage with Comcast Cable...My DVR busted and they broguht in a new one...and after a half hour of Wife Swap it crapped out.  SO I called them back and after telling them that the cable box is going where the sun don't shine, and getting a credit on my account and a new remote, it works.

Amazing how the power of being a lunatic works.  :o)

That was how I got my refund back from Amazon.com - by stating I was going to fly to wherever they were located and wait for them to give me my money back.

And how I got my credit card debt under control - called the company and said they could eat the bill if they don't give me a break (and accepting what I pay as sufficient).

You know, I don't really care for the Joisey stereotypes, but there are times when it comes in handy. 

Back to reality

Ah well nothing can last forever can it?

Back to work today but at least it was air conditioned to the point it was frigid.

I had a blast at Sandy Hook Saturday and Monday- the ocean was so clean and refreshing!

And I discovered they welcome alcoholic beverages as long as they are not in glass containers.  Well, beer comes in cans.  Woot!

Lady, my mom's rescued Cocker, got spayed last week and is recovering well. 

I updated my iPhone to the 4.0 software and now my phone runs crazy slow...could be AT&T could be no one else but me has an iPhone 3G anymore.  :/

This sunday will be awesome.  Iron Maiden LIVE.  Even though they will mostly be playing stuff off this album seen here, Brave New World, its not all bad.

Agility day

Both my dogs did me proud yesterday at the Staten Island Dog Training Club agility trial!

It was a LOOONG day - I have heard of agility trials being all day - but this was literally ALL DAY.

In the early morning, we had Novice Jumpers with Weaves preferred.  Iggy Pop was first and we got a wrong course and a knocked bar - NQ.  He was sucked into the wrong end of the tunnel.

Priscilla had a clean run though and got a second place and her first Q!  Yay!

Then I went home - it was so hot and I lived close.  Grabbed lunch with my mom for her birthday and sat in the house for a bit.  Then I headed back for our Novice Standard run with Iggy Pop.

Not only did Iggy Pop Q, he placed FIRST!  It was worth the wait!

The Quest for RAE

Ok, Priscilla has done Rally since she finished at under 2 years of age.

She loves it as do I.  After finishing her RE, I wasn't happy just sitting back with that.  I wanted more letters. 

Easy right?  10 double Q's in Excellent and Advanced.

Ok, so you enter her at the Nationals - to see how she will handle 2 runs in a day.  Beautiful!  she loves it!

2 legs down. 

Oooh - look, local shows!  So you enter those at $55.00 a pop.  She gets 2 more legs.  You are starting to get tired...6 more times of THIS?

Then on a rainy cold day over Memorial Day weekend, on a muddy Advanced B course with a lake conveniently placed next to the Moving Side Step Right sign, in your t-shirt and shorts (NOT proper attire for the weather - stupid Today in New York weatherman) the dog takes a leak.

She looks at you with those big sad eyes "I told you I hate the rain".

SIGH

So you drain your bank account on sympthay shopping and go home...only to be rewarded days later with a nasty sinus infection and a 50 dollar doctor bill for the office visit and 2 precriptions that you cant be out in the sun with...which blows your plans for Rallying on Sunday.

I'm a vampire this weekend watching weekend tv.  Priscilla is curled up at my feet.  I think this was a sign we were going too fast?  Probably.  I need to sit back and enjoy my summer! 

I am planning on entering West Springfield...that is if my mom doesnt grab another set of Bon Jovi tickets.  (eeee).  :D
